Hey, y'all! It's Cari with another chapter of my fanfic. As before, the characters of Erm Faherty, Bella Riker, Catiana "Cat" Blanc, Nora Erickson-Raftery, and Elyna Erickson-Raftery are the creations of my friends and have been used with permission. Now, without further ado, I present to you Chapter 8: We have a Meet-and-greet
~~~
As soon as the other teens turned their attention to the rag-tag fangirl army (trust me, we are quite fearsome foes), I knew the squealing would most certainly begin. Or the excited screaming. Or both.
A certain crisp-accented voice spoke. “Sophie, why are there humans here?”
It was Fitz. Blech. I’d started to untie my shoe to use as a weapon when Sophie came to our rescue.
“Fitz, I posted directions on Google Maps with Dex’s help. These are fangirls. They heard about us and traveled all the way over here just to meet us.”
“Yeah, that’s the reason we came,” Elyna confirmed.
Then Sophie and Fitz seemed to be communicating telepathically. I rolled my eyes. Fitzphie. I mimicked gagging. Erm gave me a thumbs-up.
“Hey, no telepathic conversations, you two, or else I’m gonna have to assume you’re flirting!” a particularly cute blond boy scolded.
“KEEFE!” Erm squealed super loudly. Then she fainted.
Great. So much for “Conceal, Don’t Feel”.
Cat looked like she was trying to hold in her laughter. I appeared absolutely mortified. The squeal had rewarded us with the full, undivided attention of all the characters.
“OK, so on that note, I’mma introduce ourselves and explain why in the world are we in the Lost Cities. Anyway, ‘sup, I’m Rebecca, the girl who’s lying on the ground is Erm, the tween with the dirty blond hair is Catiana, the redhead is Elyna, her sister’s Nora, and the quiet one is named Bella. We’re all fangirls and we’re here on an expedition, you see.”
“So Foster was right. I do have fangirls!” Keefe realized.
I suddenly considered my untied shoelace very interesting.
“Of course! You’re, like, the best person ever!” Erm blurted, having recovered from her faint.
“Can everyone, like, line up or something so we can do a meet-and-greet like at a theme park?” I asked, hoping to ease the tension. “It’d be, like, real cool.”
My request was quickly complied with. Soon we were walking around, snapping selfies, getting autographs, and just chatting.
Sometime later, the meet-and-greet ended, and we all were talking among ourselves. Everything was going so well, except for the minor fangirling incident. It all seemed too perfect to be real. But it was most certainly real.
