Welcome back to the new Stereotypical Characters series! I hope you’re enjoying those and getting as many laughs out of them as I am.
Today, I have for you…
Rules for Writing Villains by Skylar Rivers!
***
The tips/rules/perks of the VILLAIN
(some ppl have been doing similar things so let’s see if I can get the main, cliched villain rules)
You must have an evil laugh. Specifically “mwahahaha.”
You must have a cat. A hairless cat is the best, but if you insist, you may have a furry feline. Your job (besides being the villain, ofc) is to stroke the cat. It’s a simple task which you must not fail.
Oh, speaking of hairless, you are typically going to be bald and/or have a mustache if you’re male.
Right before you (almost) kill the hero, you must go into a monologue explaining your brilliance.
Wear dark colors. Wear a black cape.
Have a chair reserved just to sit and brew in your awesomeness and evil plan while stroking your cat.
Have lots of minions, aka henchmen who do your dirty work. Make sure that they’re really dumb and will most likely be your downfall. Wellp, I tried.
BONUSESSS!! (from the comments below) You’re not allowed to have a nose at all (or you have a snake nose) because noses are a sign of courage and goodness.
You’re a coward. Deal with it.
You come from a very hard life, which is why you became evil in the first place. Preferably, you are an orphan, never get adopted, totally unloved and unwanted as a kid. You are an outcast. [slightly edited, tbh]
Skylar Rivers has been reading ever since she was two and began writing stories when she was six. While she does enjoy the time spent hanging out with friends, she is quite introverted, as well as being an organized daily task vanquisher. She loves both reading and writing fantasy, although she has yet to write a novel. Her favorite fantasy books are Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger and Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin, while her favorite shows are Mako Mermaids, Ninjago and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. She hopes to one day get published.

Okay, yep, check, check, check. None of my villains have ever had a cat, or been cowards, but they have worn dark colors, a black cape, been an outcast, but they have had a hard life…
Who are your favorite storybook villains? Comment with your answers below!
Noah! How did you get here?! Great post, but I want to see what to do for my villain, not what not to do.
Aah... I need more of this... *wipes tears of laughter away*
*laughs* This is awesome! I don’t think I have a favorite villain, but some that are done really well are Thanos, Mysterio, and Voldemort.
