Among the Great Update

Hello, everyone! Yes, it’s Monday, and a second post! At least, once the one we have scheduled releases. I think. Sometimes we mess up the schedule. It could release tomorrow, because originally we were going to have book reviews released on Tuesday!

But I’m just rambling, aren’t I? That’s why you know it’s Erin writing, not Cari. *fp*

Today, I want to share with you something awesome!! Remember when I interviewed Amy Ullrich some weeks back?

Her book is launching in a little over a week!! October 4! *counts down days*

Today, I’m doing another post on her book to help her promote. I’m super excited about this, in case you can’t tell. I’ll also do a post on the fourth with the actual ordering link! And then there will be a book review on it posted some time in the future!

For those of you who don’t know, what is Amy’s book, Among the Great, about?

The year is AD 877, and King Alfred has succeeded in driving the marauding Danes from his kingdom – for the time being. Edwin and his sister Edith are just beginning to enjoy their liberty when, one terrible night, their lives change forever. Separated from one another, and caught up in the turmoil of their times, Edwin and Edith must learn to discern between truth and falsehood, friend and foe, or be swept away on a tide of treachery.

A blind bard, a lame blacksmith, and an ambitious warrior all have their role in this tale of courage and true heroism set during the reign of Alfred the Great.

That sounds fascinating!! I promise it is!!

When I asked Amy for a favorite quote from her book, she gave me this one.

“The stranger kept advancing, the thud of his boots articulating the passing seconds. The warm firelight that flickered in his hard, grey eyes did nothing to soften their icy coldness. His heavy dark brows overshadowed them like precipices over frozen pools. No one spoke, no one moved.”

Uh-oh. That leaves me wondering what’s going to happen, and I’ve read the book! (I am on her street team and received a free ARC, BTW.)

But wait! Amy has a launch party coming up on… October 4! It’s online! The information is linked below.

Have a great week!

Captivated by the wonder of storytelling at an early age, Amy Ullrich wrote her first “proper” book at six years old. What made it “proper” was that she typed it up on the computer (one key at a time). It was around then that she told her mom that she could never be an author because it would be “too much work.”

As the years have gone on, she’s found that writing is much more work than she even imagined! But somehow, she loves it and has kept doing it. Over the years, she has united her love for writing with her passion for history – “His story”. Now, her mission is to bring history to life through the eyes of deeply relatable fictional characters, creating stories that refresh the soul and renew the mind.
